About Computer Summer Camp 2010
The ICDL Computer Summer Camp is designed for youths aged 18 and under wanting to have a productive and an enjoyable summer. Giving enrollees the opportunity to mingle with their peers, the ICDL Computer Summer Camp combines digital skills with entertainment activities, complimented with valuable gifts from our generous sponsors. For the 8th consecutive year, the ICDL Computer Summer Camp is the most successful summer activity engaging thousands of youths living across the GCC region in a memorable learning experience that will add a great value to their daily lives.
COMPUTER LEARNING
Yahoooo......! It is a proven fact that students that are digitally aware enjoy an enriched educational experience and will be better prepared for life, work and further learning.
Furthermore, children that use technology as part of the learning process perform better in the classroom, and they are more motivated to learn. The ICDL Computer Summer Camp mainly focuses on digital literacy. Enrollees will be trained on essential computer skills based on the International Computer Driving License (ICDL), a certification standard recognized by education ministries all over the world.
ICDL is very relevant to school and college education. It is a certification program recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as well as your local Ministry of Education and most colleges in the region and globally as a benchmark for minimum required computer skills. The ICDL Summer Computer Summer Camp can be completed in 4 to 8 weeks (based on approx 20 hours per week) or up to 120 hours flexi study.
ICDL START Certification can be achieved by taking any 4 of the 7 modules:
Module 1: Basic Concepts of Information Technology (IT)
Module 2: Using the Computer and Managing Files
Module 3: Word Processing
Module 4: Spreadsheets
Module 5: Database
Module 6: Presentations
Module 7: Information and Communication

ENTERTAINMENT
Coooool......! Enrollees will receive a pack of exclusive vouchers consisting of complimentary and/or discounted entrance fees for a wide variety of attractions which includes movie theatres, water and amusement parks, offering them the opportunity to mingle and make new friends with their own age group and helping them build social skills. Please consult with your local center for details on the exclusive offers extended to the ICDL Summer Computer Camp enrollees.
COMPLIMENTARY GIFTS
Wawww......! Enrollees that successfully complete the mandatory ICDL exams will not only walk away with an international IT certification recognized your local Ministry of Education, but will also qualify to win free gifts, such as a Netbook from Acer, a Camera from Canon, a Printer from Brother, flight tickets from Etihad Airways, and more. Everyone who completes the camp will walk away with a gift.
The ICDL Computer Summer camps 2010 are run by the participating accredited centres and therefore each centre can advise parents on class dates and schedules.
Meals and transportation are not provided by private centres. Please contact the nearest participating centre for more details.
