Certification Process - How are these Programmes Delivered?

Awarding Body
ICDL GCC Foundation is the awarding body of the ICDL certificates in the GCC States and Iraq.

Approved Test Centres
Testing can only be taken at an approved test centre. ICDL GCC Foundation is responsible for approving test centres and auditing them on a regular basis to ensure they meet quality assurance standards. Approved test centres are generally within:

  • Schools
  • Universities
  • Public bodies
  • Government departments
  • Private training centres
  • Training departments within private corporations

Certification
People begin the ICDL certification process by enrolling in an ICDL Foundation programme at an approved test centre. Training is provided for each module prior to taking the test and includes training manuals and e-learning programmes which have been approved by ICDL GCC Foundation and/or ECDL Foundation.

Following appropriate preparation, the candidate sits a test in each module at the approved test centre. Upon completion of the appropriate number of modules, the approved test centre informs ICDL GCC Foundation and the certificate is awarded to the candidate. ICDL GCC Foundation issues programme specific certificates that display ICDL GCC Foundation and ECDL Foundation logos.
